about

A song-story about collective liberation over fascism and capitalism. Based on true facts from Donald Trump's childhood and true possibilities of what could happen in the future if we rise up together, this song imagines what has to happen for someone to lose their heart and then to get it back.

18% of profits from the song will go to Wildseed Community Farm and Healing Village, an emerging Black and Brown-led, feminine-centered, queer-loving, earth-based intentional community, organic farm, healing sanctuary, and political and creative home forming on 181 acres in Millerton, NY, 2 hours north of NYC.

lyrics

Once there was a boy who had more than he could need
Twenty three rooms gets lonely indeed
When father was home he would wear a suit and tie
Oh it’s hard to be a human when there isn’t room to try

At school on the playground he was loud and he was mean
Pulled the girls’ hair, always needed to be seen
By seventh grade, all his mouth could do was pout
No he couldn’t be wrong or the anger would come out

Oh, all you white supremacists
And misogynistic men
They broke you with false promises
That giving up your heart would mean getting their love
All the fathers before them
In greed and pain and fear
This stops now my dear

The boy and his friend would go out to explore
Down the new york city train lines to different bigger worlds
When father found out, it was straight to boarding school
From a mansion in queens, then to military rule

Well if he was cruel before, it was only the beginning
Surrounded by violence, he cared only about winning
This high school boy decided he’d be on top
Be the president one day, oh no he’d never stop

Oh, all you white supremacists
And misogynistic men
They broke you with false promises
That being in charge would mean getting their love
All the fathers before them
In greed and pain and fear
This stops now my dear

Well this part of the story, we know all too well
Through hate, manipulation, any lies he could sell
This old white man got picked to run the USA
A scary rich abuser who wanted everything his way

Well the people rose up in the face of all that terror
Said “Hate has no place here!” This country’s made a great error
The old man on his throne held tight to the power
But corporate USA was no match for this hour

And the movements marched
Straight into the white house
And they took him by the shoulders and they pushed him out
To a room full of people and their stories
Of lives lost and hearts filled with grief

And a line made of old white men held him there
Said brother, you are not going anywhere
Till you feel all the pain that you caused
And find your shriveled heart once again

And looking all around him then he had the choice
To feel it all or refuse to bend
And we can’t know what he would have chosen
But for this story let’s pretend

The old white man took the hand of his neighbor
She broke down in sobs
All that misplaced anger
Came pouring out of him and into the ground
How could being so lost make him feel so newly found

And just saying sorry couldn’t possibly make better
500 years of racism and genocide
But the right folks were in charge and it definitely wasn’t him
He followed their lead and knew what it was to win

And this old white man could sometimes still be a tool
But he was held accountable to the people’s rule
Dismantling oppression, it was hard but it was fun
We did it day by day with buttered toast for everyone

Oh, all you white supremacists
And misogynistic men
There are so many better choices
Than giving up your heart to try getting their love
All the fathers before them
In greed and pain and fear
This stops now my dear
